Harmony Build Wins An Award for Heritage Home In Marrickville

Freshly renovated heritage home

In 2008, Sara and Matt bought a simple, low key cottage in Marrickville. Despite the 70s style orange and brown decor throughout, they had dreams of something altogether more grand.

Working with architect Eugenia Harley of ESNH Design, they envisioned radical changes to completely open out the space, bring in natural light, and recover the beautiful sandstone at the front of the heritage home. Harmony Build was lucky enough to win the construction of the project, and we worked closely with the clients to make their vision a reality.

The home was a finalist in the Marrickville Medal for Conservation. The Medal celebrates built conservation works that contribute to the understanding and preservation of Marrickville's rich cultural and architectural heritage.

This beautiful sandstone four bedroom home in Marrickville was passed on to new owners shortly after the build was completed.

With such a focus on preserving local heritage, the project was also featured in The Domain.
