Getting Ready To Renovate? Design Your Floorplans On Your Phone
Renovating your home can be a daunting process. But there's never been more help at hand, with the ever-increasing selection of apps and online tools designed to make every aspect of the process easier to manage and more inspiring.
Today's app is MagicPlan
If you are planning to knock down walls, gear up for a major renovation, or just get some thoughts in place before engaging an architect or builder, then the MagicPlan app might be just what you need.
MagicPlan is FREE to download on itunes and Google Play.
MagicPlan promises to measure your room, help design your floorplans and create an inside map just by taking a few pictures (although you do need a device with a gyroscope, which tends to be the most recent phones gearing up for VR).
Once you have the plan, you can add objects and notes to create your map.
It can be fiddly to use, and you may prefer to leave it to the experts, but it's a great example of how technology is breaking down the barriers for everyday folk to take greater control over all aspects of life.
If that has piqued your interest, then check out the video here for a quick demo.
If you do decide to give it a go, we'd advise checking measurements manually before ordering any materials or furniture to fit specific spaces, especially until you have confidence in the accuracy of readings.
If you are more focused on interiors at this stage, check out last week's blog post on the Homestyler Interior Design app.
